Corrections Policy

We correct mistakes openly instead of quietly editing them away. If we discover that something we’ve published is incorrect, misleading, or materially outdated, we review the information and make an appropriate correction.

How to Report an Error

If you believe something we’ve published is incorrect or outdated, contact us with:

  • The URL of the article or page
  • The specific claim or information you believe is incorrect
  • An explanation of the issue
  • A reliable source supporting the correction, when available

Providing a source is helpful, but you can still report an issue without one.

What Happens After We Receive a Report

We review the reported information against reliable sources, official documentation, or other appropriate evidence.

Depending on the issue, we may:

  • Check the original source used when the article was published
  • Compare the information with current official documentation
  • Check multiple reliable sources
  • Re-test a product or feature when practical
  • Review related sections of the article for other affected information

A correction request does not automatically mean the content will be changed. We verify the reported issue before making a substantive correction.

What We Correct

We may correct:

  • Factual errors
  • Incorrect product specifications
  • Outdated pricing
  • Incorrect features or compatibility information
  • Incorrect instructions
  • Broken or incorrect links
  • Misleading statements
  • Other information that could materially affect a reader’s understanding or decision

If an error has important consequences, such as incorrect pricing, security information, product functionality, or technical instructions, we give the issue appropriate priority.

Minor and Substantial Corrections

Not every edit requires a correction note.

Minor corrections include typos, grammar issues, formatting problems, broken links, or small wording changes that do not materially affect the meaning of the content. These may be corrected without a public note.

Substantial corrections include significant factual errors, incorrect pricing, misleading instructions, or other changes that could affect a reader’s understanding or decision.

When appropriate, we add a dated correction note to the affected article. For example:

Updated August 13, 2026: Corrected the WooCommerce extension pricing, which had changed since publishing.

Updates Are Not Always Corrections

Some information changes naturally over time. Product features, pricing, availability, policies, and other details may change after an article is published.

When information has simply become outdated, we may update the article to reflect current verified information rather than treating the change as an error.

Our Editorial Guidelines explain how we research, review, and maintain our content.

Corrections to Reviews

If a factual error affects a product review, we review the relevant information and update the affected section when appropriate.

If the error materially affects a rating or recommendation, we also review the rating or recommendation and make changes when the evidence supports doing so.

Our affiliate relationships do not influence whether we make a correction or how we evaluate a product. See our Review Methodology and Affiliate Disclosure for more information.

Our Commitment

Our Fact-Checking Policy explains how we try to verify information before publication. This policy explains what we do when something gets through that process and needs to be corrected.

We take credible correction requests seriously and aim to correct confirmed errors as soon as reasonably possible.

If you spot something that needs attention, contact us.
