# Fact Checking Policy

## Fact Checking Policy

We write about WordPress, hosting, SEO, AI, Business & Entrepreneurship, eCommerce, Shopify, SaaS, and digital marketing: topics where inaccurate information, outdated instructions, or incorrect pricing can cost you real time. Here’s how we check facts before publishing.

## What Gets Checked

- **Pricing and plan details:** verified against the vendor’s current pricing or product page
- **Feature claims:** checked against official documentation or our own testing
- **Statistics:** sourced from the original publisher or another reliable primary source where available
- **Instructions and code:** tested in a real WordPress environment when practical
- **Product specifications and compatibility:** checked against official documentation or product information
- **Policies and requirements:** checked against the relevant official source

## The Process

We verify factual claims against appropriate sources before publication. We prioritize primary sources such as vendor documentation, pricing pages, official product listings, WordPress.org, government sources, original research, and first-hand testing.

When we have access to a product, we may test the relevant feature or instruction ourselves.

The published date and last-updated date help readers understand when the information was most recently reviewed.

## AI in Our Workflow

We use AI tools for research and to speed up parts of our workflow, not as a substitute for verification.

AI-generated information is not treated as a factual source by itself. Prices, claims, statistics, specifications, and other important facts are checked against appropriate sources before publishing.

AI assistance does not skip our verification process.

## If We Can’t Verify Something

We do not knowingly present an unverified claim as fact.

If we cannot confirm information with sufficient confidence, we may leave it out, qualify the statement, or clearly explain that the information could not be verified.

When reliable sources disagree, we investigate the difference rather than presenting one version as certain without appropriate context.

## After Publication

Fact-checking does not end when an article is published. Products, prices, policies, features, and other information can change.

When we discover that published information is incorrect or materially outdated, we review and update it when appropriate.

See our [Corrections Policy](https://skybootstrap.com/corrections-policy/) for how we handle confirmed errors and correction requests.

## Report an Error

If you believe we have published an incorrect or unverified claim, [contact us](https://skybootstrap.com/contact-us/) with the article URL and the specific claim.

If available, include a reliable source supporting the correction. We review credible reports and make corrections when the evidence supports them.
